Here we go again!

Today I woke up early and drove my two boys to church to board the bus to go to Summersalt, an area youth church camp.  Dylan, at 17, went excitedly and immediately blended into the crowd of excited youth, laughing and cutting up, anxious to board the bus and get on his way.  Christian, however, at 13 and my shy child stood somewhat awkwardly on the sidelines looking as if he would rather get right back in the car and return to the comfort of home.  Fortunately, he was rapidly welcomed by one of his friends and my little mother heart smiled as I saw him begin to stand a little straighter.
It was not that long ago, well maybe a while, when our older daughters were boarding that same type of bus with those same expectations.  And this is why I am so fond of summer church camps, they give our children one more exposure, one more opportunity to learn about and love the living Christ.  When they say "it takes a village to raise a child" well it takes a village to continually point to Christ and a Father God to call to them and reveal His Son.
Thank you Lord!

  1. This is so great. So happy that you are using this outlet to share Christ's love. Very, very cool. My dad gave me his iPad so you know that we will have to have a blogging-iPad session asap. Can't wait.
